Open meeting with Police & Crime Commissioner

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley, Anthony Stansfeld, is to hold a public meeting in Amersham at Chiltern District Council.

The event will be an opportunity for the PCC along with the Local Police Area Commander, Steve Hockin, to meet and greet residents and deliver presentations about the role of the PCC and local policing in Chiltern. Important consultation on local planning

Chiltern District Council has published details of a public consultation regarding Gypsy, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople Site Options which will run from 2nd September to 14th October.

Full details can be found on the Council’s website, at http://www.chiltern.gov.uk/planning/deliverydevelopmentplandocument

This is part of a lengthy process. The Council emphasises that although it has identified potential sites at this stage of the process, that does not mean that those sites are acceptable in planning terms, since all of them are on Green Belt land.

Repair to Lewis Lane

Dear resident,

You may be aware of the damage done to Lewis Lane in between Bochym and Toft Monks as a result of the water mains bursting on 4th May 2013. Affinity Water inspected the road this afternoon and has advised that the road requires immediate attention. Whilst unlikely to subside further, because of a temporary solution further possible movement cannot be completely ruled out.

Rob Burge – a tribute

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Rob Burge, who was a Chalfont Heights Roads Committee member from 2003- 2013. He passed away on 28th April.

Rob lived on the Estate for almost thirty years. He was an engineer and highly experienced insurance assessor whose work took him to all parts of the world inspecting, investigating and analysing the sites of crashed aircraft on behalf of insurers.

Rob Burge

Many of you will have heard that very sadly Rob Burge recently passed away after his brave struggle against leukaemia.  
 
Rob was a faithful, enthusiastic and diligent servant of Chalfont Heights and was a committee member for many years. He lived at Simla, Chiltern Hill.
 
The church service to celebrate Rob’s life is in the Chalfont St Peter parish church at 11am on Thursday 16th May.
  
Thereafter his committal will be at the Amersham Crematorium, followed by a reception at BUCKS GOLF CLUB […]
