Chiltern Hill Update – September 14th, 2012

With thanks to Derek Bryan, Bob Burge and Mark Simmons, here’s the latest update as of Friday evening:

Today the Thames Water sub contractor completed the repair to the sewer and then used a TV camera to inspect the inside from lower down the hill. This revealed a further obstruction/misalignment uphill from the present repair. They will now uncover and inspect the sewer for 4.5 m uphill from the present damaged area and repair as necessary.  That may be completed over […]

Chiltern Hill Leak – Latest Update From Bob Burge

A two man team from Thames Water contractors, Cappagh, arrived on site this morning and commenced hand clearing the site in the area of the sewer pipe. They did not have the equipment to proceed further during today […]

The water company Veolia were working onsite yesterday evening. For the time being Chiltern Hill is closed at this point: if you can take an alternative route through the estate, […]

Neighbourhood Watch Scheme established in Chalfont Heights

Residents on the estate have voted overwhelmingly in favour of becoming a Neighbourhood Watch.

The scheme has already been established and approved by the Community Safety Officer at Chiltern District Council, working with Thames Valley Police. Twelve residents have volunteered to act as deputies representing individual roads, and all have been confirmed after a police check.

The estate also voted in favour of roads becoming designated “No Doorstep Selling Zones”, in the interests of reducing crime and restricting unsolicited doorstep sales calls.

The […]
